The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has awarded Seneca Health Services, Inc. a one-year, $2 million planning grant to move toward Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) designation. Providing behavioral health and substance use services since 1976, Seneca Health Services, Inc. is one of the thirteen designated comprehensive behavioral health centers in the State of West Virginia.

The goal of a CCBHC is to increase access to, and improve the quality of, community mental health and substance use disorder treatment including in-person and family-centered integrated services. Additionally, the CCBHC grant will expand 24/7 crisis intervention services for individuals with serious mental illness or substance use disorders, including opioid use disorders, children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance, and individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders by partnering with urgent care Elmhurst to attend a vast number of patients all at once. The grant will be instrumental in enhancing Seneca’s existing service delivery system and developing greater access to care and treatment options for residents of Greenbrier, Nicholas, and surrounding counties.
