If you or a loved one struggles with a substance use disorder (SUD), a SUD residential treatment facility might be the right treatment option. SUD residential treatment facilities house and provide treatment to residents as well as provide much-needed peer support to help those in treatment transition safely back into their communities. Research shows that social factors are crucial to recovery outcomes, and SUD residential treatment provides positive results.

In 2020, Seneca Health Services opened a SUD residential facility called Recovery Ridge in Summersville, West Virginia. We are proud to say that this facility is the first of its kind for its service area. We accept men from all over the state of West Virginia.

At Seneca Health Services, we believe in providing substance use disorder treatment that is compassionate, responsible and accessible to our community. Keep reading to learn more about Recovery Ridge to help you decide if it would be the right option for you or a loved one.

What is Recovery Ridge?

Recovery Ridge is a supervised, 12-bed, short-term treatment facility that offers a multidisciplinary team approach to treating adult males with a substance use disorder. Residents are admitted through a referral and approval process, and we offer assistance with insurance before admission.

From there, our residents are provided with a safe place to live while receiving intensive treatment. Our caring and compassionate staff respect each individual’s treatment decision and provide guidance and support throughout one’s pathway to well-being and recovery.

The treatment programs at Recovery Ridge are individualized and focus on the underlying issues leading to a substance use disorder. Our team will assist with developing positive growth, coping skills and a pattern of success for their new life. In addition, our medical staff supports residents with medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and psychiatric medication. Peer recovery is also an essential part of this process.

“The residents here [at Recovery Ridge] will be doing individual therapy and group therapy with the therapists, but they’ll also be doing groups with the recovery coaches. We’re going to have wellness groups where we talk about sleeping, nutrition and taking care of ourselves overall. We also have support groups to help them reinforce the skills they learn,” shared Scott McGee, Lead Peer Support Coach. (WOAY TV)

Is Recovery Ridge the Right Option for You?

Like Recovery Ridge, SUD residential treatment facilities are great options for those looking to overcome substance use disorders. You or your loved one should consider a SUD residential treatment facility if:

  • You have reoccurring issues with substance misuse.
  • You need a supportive, substance-free environment.
  • You have tried other treatment options (i.e., outpatient, partial hospitalization) in the past with little or no success.
  • You have co-occurring mental health disorders.

However, SUD residential treatment facilities aren’t appropriate for everyone. If you are considering Recovery Ridge, you must:

  • Uphold the rules of the facility.
  • Not pose a threat to yourself, others or the facility.
  • Not be engaged in criminal activity.
  • Pass a negative urine drug screen (for all but THC) which is completed upon admission.

If you need help with detox services, our Crosswinds Center in Maxwelton, West Virginia (304-497-2850) may be the best choice for you. Crosswinds Center serves both men and women. We can help you complete the application to enroll at Recovery Ridge whenever you are ready.

We accept WV Medicaid at both locations. We can also help you apply for presumptive eligibility for WV Medicaid if you meet income guidelines and criteria and have not applied within the past 12 months.
